Directly following the WASHTO conference, the National Transportation Emergency Response Summit (NTERS) brings together leaders from across transportation, public safety, emergency response, and government for a one-and-a-half-day conversation focused on coordination across states, sharing lessons learned and advancing a more connected approach to emergency response across our transportation corridors.

Through keynote presentations, roundtables, and breakout sessions featuring national and regional public and private sector leaders, attendees will explore both the technology, tools and systems that enable responses as well as how to build durable partnerships and trust before crises occur.

While emergency response is more complicated than ever because emergencies are growing in intensity, scale, duration and frequency, there are also rapidly improving tools, connectivity opportunities and processes to meet that intensity. NTERS builds on recent AASHTO and other state-led regional summits to advance work at the system level through sessions designed to improve the alignment of information, operations, and decision-making across state lines.

• Day 1: emphasizes the critical need for well-coordinated multi-state emergency operations – particularly along our interstate corridors – and features keynotes and panel discussions that explore lessons learned from those on the ground and highlight the value of multi-state coordination and a connected corridor network.
• Day 2: focuses on enabling response through connected transportation networks, technology, and data sharing, and includes breakout sessions on governance, trust-building, emergency operations integration, and first responder safety
