Information for Your Hoover Dam Technical Tour
We are looking forward to welcoming you on this special behind-the-scenes tour of one of the nation’s most iconic engineering landmarks. Jae Pullen, Assistant Director, Nevada Department of Transportation, will be hosting you on this tour.
Departure and Return
Please meet at the Tiffany Lot at the The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Sunday, July 19. Buses will begin loading at 12:45 PM and are expected to return to the hotel at approximately 4:45 PM. Please arrive a few minutes early so the group can depart on time.
Getting to the Tiffany Lot
Starting from the main hotel registration desk, walk through the glass doors toward the passenger drop-off. Turn right and walk along the building, then cross at the crosswalk toward the "Uber Pickup Zone" (see photo below). Turn right and proceed through the white double doors, continue to the end of the hall, and turn left up the ramp to the bus staging area and the Tiffany Lot. Please allow a few extra minutes to walk from the lobby so you're ready to board when loading begins at 12:45 PM.

What to Wear
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Please wear comfortable, sturdy footwear suitable for walking, stairs and uneven surfaces. The walking portion of the tour is approximately one-half mile and will last about one hour.
Identification and Security Screening
All participants must present a valid U.S. government-issued photo ID to participate in the tour.
Participants and their belongings will undergo TSA-style security screening before entering the Visitor Center. You may be asked to remove belts and other metal items and empty your pockets. Bags and personal belongings will be thoroughly inspected.
Please bring only essential items. Backpacks and bags may not exceed 12" x 6" x 12". Weapons, knives, hard-sided coolers, drugs, marijuana and alcohol are strictly prohibited.
Water and Other Beverages
Only bottled water is permitted. Canned beverages, cups and glass containers are not allowed. Water may be carried during the tour, but eating and drinking are prohibited inside Hoover Dam buildings.
Accessibility and Tour Conditions
The powerplant portion of the tour includes a short set of stairs. The generator floor has railings and some uneven surfaces, so participants should be comfortable navigating these conditions. Portions of the tour also take place in enclosed spaces.
